2009 Funded Initiatives
During FY’09more than $1,700,000 was raised to support SCORE programs, projects, resources, chapters and capacity building. This has helped support
- SCORE strategic inititiatives including a new counseling methodology program, new business start and growth series programs, research on SCORE clients and small business, new business templates and resources
- special project funding - regional events, online resources, technology enhancements
- sponsorships to the SCORE national website for enhancements and additions
- supporting SCORE: Women - an ongoing initiative to provide expanded and enhanced resources to women in business
- designated gifts to more than 60 Chapters
- program resources/projects and capacity building programs at the SCORE national level
Philanthropic support to SCORE in 2009 continued to assist our organization in:
Establishing national corporate alliance partnerships which bring increased levels of marketing of SCORE and provided outstanding resources to our clients like the
- Sony for Business sponsored “Small Business Basics”
- Year 3 of the H-P sponsored and powered “Technology for Your Business” section of the SCORE website and the multi- city tour of the HP/SCORE For the health of Your Business Workshops
- American Express OPEN“SCORE Speed Coaching” events in 15 regions and their sponsorship of the SCORE website to expand and enhance its resources
- UPS and The Office Depot Foundation on-line and print client educational workbooks/workshops
- Corporate sponsorships of the client monthly newsletters, SCORE eNews and SCORE Expert Answers
Assisting chapters with enhancing or starting their fundraising efforts to have more resources to serve clients through peer learning conference calls on chapter fundraising topics and providing an updated “Chapter Fundraising Toolkit”
Developing the long-term security of SCORE by promoting and securing future expectancies totaling more than $2.5 million for SCORE’s endowment from more than 70 SCORE and non-SCORE volunteers who joined the Titley Society
Expand the culture of philanthropy within SCORE and outside of SCORE so that new revenue streams of philanthropy were started to help expand the services and resources to our clients.
